ABOUT US

In 2007, a few concerned Muslim brothers from Regina Saskatchewan took this challenge upon themselves to find out if there was an alternative. They started pooling their money together to buy the small properties. Alhamdulillah, with the help of Allah (SWT) and due to their genuine concern and dedicated efforts, they bought properties by pooling resources.

about
“O you who have believed, fear Allah and give up what remains [due to you] of interest, if you should be believers.” Al Baqarah 2:278
Al-Ehsaan Housing was established in 2012 in Regina as a non-profit organization that facilitates investment opportunities compliant with Islamic principles. The organization offers an alternative to riba (interest) by providing halal profits. This is achieved through a pooled investment model. Investors contribute funds that are used to acquire properties chosen by homebuyers. These properties are then made available for purchase by members through rent-to-own agreements. Rent payments are distributed to investors as quarterly dividends. In 2023, Al-Ehsaan Housing underwent a business structure transformation, converting from a non-profit organization to Al-Ehsaan Residential Cooperatives. This strategic shift was implemented to effectively address the growing requirements of both investors and home buyers within the organization.
  • Allah will deprive usury of all blessing, but will give increase for deeds of charity…
  • O those who believe do not eat up riba doubled and redoubled…
  • Those who take interest will not stand but as stands whom the demon has driven crazy by his touch…
  • And for their taking usury though indeed they were forbidden it and for their devouring the property of people falsely, and We have prepared for the unbelievers from among them a painful chastisement…
  • That is because they have said: ‘Trading is but like riba‘. And Allah has permitted trading and prohibited riba…
  • And whatever you lay out as usury, so that it may increase in the property of men, it shall not increase with Allah; and whatever you give in charity, desiring Allah's pleasure - it is these (persons) that shall get manifold…
  • O you who believe! Be careful of (your duty to) Allah and relinquish what remains (due) from usury, if you are believers…
  • Help you one another in Al Birr and At Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allaah. Verily, Allaah is Severe in punishment…
